The sweet pea is the main ingredient found in this soup recipe. The sweet pea was originally cross-bred and developed by Scotsman Henry Eckford. Today, the Sweet Pea Society of Wem, England has an annual show where his first trial fields were planted. There is an area in the town of Wem known as Eckford Park named after the scientific Scotsman.
